Gravity Fly Rods is a collective effort from both Shaun and Daniel, and the G-Series of graphene-powered fly rods pushes the boundaries of what you can expect from a South African brand.

Utilizing graphene extensively through the blanks has resulted in fly rods that are stronger, lighter, and more precise. Graphene Explained: 

Graphene is elastic, much more so than graphite which is quite brittle in comparison. This elasticity lends itself naturally to fly rods as it aids in dramatically improving recovery rate, and action while reducing physical weight. The Gravity G-series 8 weight 9-foot fly rod has a FAST (tip flex) action and ULTRA-FAST recovery rate. This fly rod lends itself exceptionally well to large rivers, saltwater, and boat casting. The G-Series 8wt was specially designed to be the ultimate Largemouth Yellowfish, Tigerfish, and Grunter/Leerie fly rod.

The feedback and sensation that Graphene provides to the angler results in a fly rod that behaves like an extension of your arm. Pin-point accuracy is accompanied by a sublimely smooth fast action that turns over big flies with ease, or when needed can delicately lay a “turd” fly down effortlessly. 

The recovery rate is one of the stand-out features of the G-Series and was the driving force behind the use of Graphene. We further increased the recovery rate by keeping the blank raw and unsanded. The unsanded blank also increases our fly rods’ overall action while reducing the swing weight. Graphene is a next-generation material and by utilizing it in fly rods we have pushed the boundaries of what a modern fly rod can achieve.
