The straight point, general purpose or dressing scissors are your go-to pair for daily patterns, however avoid cutting wire with them. If you find yourself cutting,using a lot of wires in your patterns then be sure to pickup an arrow pointed style that contains a built in wire cutter.

On the other end of the range is of most specialized scissors yet, the Razor Edge with adjustable tension is the head shaping stylists dream. The tension adjustment gives you precise control over the blades tension and is a must have if you find yourself tying Largie flies and other hair shaping patterns. (D.D.D  |  Muisehond  |  etc )
