Introducing DriftGuard, our premium neoprene total wading sock solution.

Built for long days in the water, these 3.5mm neoprene wading socks are the result of 18 months of real-world testing across South Africa. Designed in-house by Reel Fly Fishing, every detail has been considered to improve comfort, durability, and performance where it matters most.
A heavy-duty stitched flap down gravel guard with an upward-facing hook keeps everything locked in place without chewing up your boots. The addition of a unique stretch Velcro band seals the top, helping keep grit and sand out, so you can focus on fishing, not discomfort.
Constructed from premium 3.5mm neoprene, these socks strike the right balance between protection and flexibility. A breathable sole panel helps manage moisture and reduces that all-too-familiar “trench foot” feeling after a full day of wading. They’re cut extra long to properly cover your boots, while staying slim and snug around the ankle to avoid unnecessary drag or bulk.
Finished in a clean, cool grey with royal blue soles and the South African flag proudly featured on the rear, they’re as cool in appearance as they are in function.

Best Use Guide
For the best comfort and longevity, we recommend wearing a thin sock underneath your neoprene wading socks. This simple layer helps reduce friction against the neoprene, limiting chafing over the course of a full day on the water while also protecting your toes, nails, and the sock itself.
When fishing more demanding environments—like rocky rivers or systems such as the Vaal—stepping up your layering makes a big difference. A thin base sock paired with a thicker, cushioned outer sock beneath your neoprene creates a more supportive, protective fit. It’s a noticeable upgrade in comfort, especially when you’re putting in long sessions or fishing multiple days in a row.
Dialled in properly, this setup keeps your feet comfortable, protected, and ready for whatever the day throws at you.
