Curved Shank Jig Hook | JC1 | Jig Style Caddis/Emerger/Scud

Here at Reel Fly Fishing, we have been testing and innovating a new hook for our local Yellowfish for a number of seasons.  The JC1 is our heaviest wire jig-style caddis hook with a continuous bend, making it an excellent option for a variety of nymph/caddis/scud patterns.

This design facilitates the use of larger beads and enhances the overall performance of your flies. Traditional scud/emerger and caddis hooks drift pointing downwards, often leading to more snags when compared to jig-style nymph hooks. This new shape allows you to use your tried and tested caddis/scud style patterns but with the much more effective point-up style jig hook orientation.

This hook would be a great choice if you’re looking to tie nymphs that need a robust, reliable hook with excellent hook-setting potential and extreme fish-holding power.
