The Unreel Copolymer Tippet is designed using advanced technologies and materials, resulting in a soft, easy-to-tie, and consistent tippet for various fly fishing applications. Its versatility makes it suitable for both dry fly and sub-surface techniques.
Similar to traditional nylon tippet, copolymer performs exceptionally well in dry fly fishing due to its ability to float and maintain the proper presentation on the surface. However, what sets it apart is its suitability for sub-surface fishing as well, where it provides excellent control and sensitivity.
This combination of durability, knot strength, and floatation makes the Unreel Copolymer Tippet a go-to choice for fly anglers looking for consistent performance in a wide range of conditions, from delicate dry fly presentations to deeper, more subtle sub-surface presentations.
The use of a copolymer tippet is greatly appreciated when stalking rising fish that are feeding on the surface, as well as for general dry fly techniques. One of the more uncommonly known facts about copolymer is that it tends to float more on the surface|meniscus of water unlike that of fluorocarbon – this is why it is greatly suited for dry fly fishing and can aid in keeping your fly afloat – this is not to say copolymers do not sink but it offers more “float-ability” and is preferable to fluorocarbon when dry fly fishing. Copolymer Tippet when submersed also has a slower sink rate than fluorocarbon which should be borne in mind when fishing sub-surface patterns. When fishing a wet fly then the use of our Covert Fluorocarbon should be used to decrease line visibility in the water and increase your strike/hookup rate as well as greatly increase sink rates when euro nymphing.
