Origin II 9’ 5wt – v2.5
The Evolution Continues.
The Origin II 9’ 5wt was designed from the ground up with a very simple brief: extract as much performance as possible from the blank without compromising durability, balance, or real-world fishability.
Every part of the rod, taper, wall thickness, and flex curve was developed from scratch. Nothing carried over. The focus was on building a blank that delivers maximum power-to-weight efficiency while maintaining a clean, responsive feel in hand.
At the core is Japanese Toray 40T carbon, paired with a new resin system we developed specifically for this range. The goal with the resin wasn’t just weight reduction, but reactivity. Improving how quickly the rod recovers and how efficiently it transfers energy through the casting stroke. The end result is a blank that feels alive: quick to load, fast to recover, and exceptionally powerful when you need it.
At 73 grams, the Origin II sits firmly in the ultra-light category, but more importantly, it carries one of the lowest swing weights in its class. This translates into reduced fatigue, tighter loop control, and a rod that feels light and responsive throughout the entire casting stroke, giving you that much-loved feedback into your hands.
A lot of attention was given to how the rod behaves under load. The action is modern and fast, but not overly stiff. It loads cleanly at short range, stays composed as you carry more line, and tracks straight without unwanted oscillation. That stability through the stop is where much of the performance comes from, less wasted movement and more direct energy transfer.
Manufacturing is handled in South Korea, where consistency and finish quality are non-negotiable. Component selection followed the same philosophy of keeping things refined and purposeful. The rod features single-foot Korean hard chrome guides to minimise weight and maintain minimal line drag, along with a high-end reel seat fitted with a woven carbon insert, a subtle detail that not only looks the part, but also reflects the materials and technology used throughout the blank itself.
The smallest details were considered. Guide spacing, wrap weight, and finish thickness all contribute to how the rod ultimately performs.
On the water, the Origin II 5wt is versatile and easy to live with. It pairs well with a slightly overweight WF 5wt line. Whether you’re fishing dries, light nymphs, or covering water in mixed conditions, it maintains a consistent, controlled feel.
The Origin II is about maximising performance. Focusing on thoughtful design, attention to detail, and building a rod that performs well beyond what its weight is in both terms of price point and performance.

Warranty
All Origin II rods are covered by a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the original owner.
We stand behind the quality of our design and build, and every rod is produced with long-term use in mind. If a fault is found to be the result of a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace the affected section at no cost.
Fly rods are, however, tools that are used in demanding environments. Damage caused by accidents, misuse, wear and tear, or external factors is not covered under warranty. This includes (but is not limited to) impacts, car doors, high sticking, or general handling damage.
That said, we aim to keep you on the water. In the event of accidental damage, replacement sections are available at a reasonable cost, subject to availability. Our goal is to make the process as straightforward and fair as possible, without unnecessary delays or excessive charges.
To process a warranty or replacement request, we may ask for:
Proof of purchase
A brief description of the issue
Photos of the damaged section
Turnaround times will depend on stock availability, but we will always do our best to get you back up and fishing as quickly as possible.
