Origin II 9’6” 6wt | v2.5
Your stillwater champion.
The 9’6” 6wt builds on the same design philosophy, but shifts the focus toward situations where a bit more authority is needed. It’s a rod made for heavier stillwaters, bigger flies, and days where wind becomes part of the equation rather than something you can avoid.
Like the 5wt, it’s designed from the ground up, taper, wall structure, and flex curve all developed specifically for this length and line class. The aim here was to create a rod that can generate line speed easily, carry more mass, and stay composed under load, without becoming overly stiff or tiring to cast.
The blank is built using Toray 40T carbon, paired with the same high-response resin system developed for the Origin II range. That combination allows the rod to recover quickly and efficiently, even when pushing heavier lines or turning over larger patterns. It has the backbone to punch into the wind when needed, but still retains enough feel to stay connected at more typical fishing distances.
At 9’6”, the added length brings a few practical advantages. When wading, it helps keep the line clear of bankside vegetation and gives you a bit more reach for line control. From a float tube or boat, it makes it easier to lift and reposition the line, particularly when working longer casts. That extra length also naturally softens how the rod behaves under load, offering a bit more tippet protection than you might expect from a rod in this class.
In hand, it’s a fast-action rod, but not an unforgiving one. It loads cleanly, tracks well, and has a strong, stable stop — which is where much of its casting power comes from. Whether you’re throwing heavier stillwater rigs, fishing streamers, or even stepping into lighter saltwater work, it has the versatility to handle it without feeling overbuilt.
Componentry follows the same approach as the rest of the range. Single-foot Korean hard chrome guides keep weight down and maintain a clean line path, while the machined aluminium reel seat with a woven carbon insert ties the build together with a subtle nod to the materials used in the blank itself. Everything is built with durability in mind, without adding unnecessary weight.
The 9’6” 6wt is a capable, easy-casting rod that really comes into its own when conditions are less forgiving. It’s the one you reach for when a 5wt starts to feel outmatched, whether that’s due to wind, fly size, or simply the need to cover water more effectively.

Warranty
All Origin II rods are covered by a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the original owner.
We stand behind the quality of our design and build, and every rod is produced with long-term use in mind. If a fault is found to be the result of a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace the affected section at no cost.
Fly rods are, however, tools that are used in demanding environments. Damage caused by accidents, misuse, wear and tear, or external factors is not covered under warranty. This includes (but is not limited to) impacts, car doors, high sticking, or general handling damage.
That said, we aim to keep you on the water. In the event of accidental damage, replacement sections are available at a reasonable cost, subject to availability. Our goal is to make the process as straightforward and fair as possible, without unnecessary delays or excessive charges.
To process a warranty or replacement request, we may ask for:
Proof of purchase
A brief description of the issue
Photos of the damaged section
Turnaround times will depend on stock availability, but we will always do our best to get you back up and fishing as quickly as possible.
