TechNymph G — 11′ 3wt
Next-Generation Euro Nymphing Performance
After more than two years of development, testing, and time on the water, the TechNymph G 11′ 3wt is the result of a true ground-up approach to modern euro nymphing performance.
This rod wasn’t built in isolation. It’s been shaped alongside competitive anglers and guides who fish hard, in real conditions, where small differences actually matter. From the beginning, the goal wasn’t just to make another light 3wt; it was to create something more usable across a wider range of situations.
At the core of that is the dual-tip system.
The finesse tip is tuned for lighter beads, maximum sensitivity, and protecting fine tippets when things get technical. Swap over to the power tip, and you immediately gain more lifting strength, better turnover, and improved control with heavier rigs. It changes how much you can ask from a single rod—and how often you need to switch setups.
Where this rod really separates itself is in the blank.
As a South African first in this space—building on what we started with the Apex and Gravity ranges (first graphene-powered rods in SA), we’ve brought graphene into a dedicated nymphing platform. Combined with Japanese Toray 40T and 46T carbon, this gave us far more control over how the rod behaves through its entire length.
Instead of relying on a single material, we’ve positioned each modulus where it performs best. Higher modulus carbon, where speed and sensitivity matter most, backed up by reinforcement where stability and strength are needed. The layup itself uses a mix of unidirectional, 90° and 45° fibres, which keeps the blank stable, accurate, and predictable, even when fishing very light.
Fast recovery. Minimal bounce. Clean tracking.
That was the brief, and it’s exactly where this rod ended up.
A big part of achieving that came down to the resin system. Working closely with our South Korean manufacturing partner, we developed a layup that makes proper use of graphene, not just as a buzzword, but as a functional part of the blank. The end result is a rod that feels crisp and responsive in hand, without becoming harsh or unforgiving when loaded.
The flex profile follows a true progressive curve. The tip stays light and sensitive, the mid-section supports it without collapsing, and the lower butt has the power to lean on fish when you need it. It’s a rod that fishes light setups properly, but doesn’t fall apart when things get bigger or heavier.
This is what makes the TechNymph G so adaptable.
From small, technical streams to bigger systems like the Vaal, Mooi, or Orange, it adapts. Light rigs, heavier rigs, tricky currents, it stays composed and predictable.
We also kept a close eye on the physical build.
At 93 grams, it sits right in the performance sweet spot for an 11′ rod—light enough to stay responsive and reduce fatigue, but with enough structure to remain stable, controlled and strong. Components were chosen with the same thinking: minimal epoxy on wraps, lightweight hard chrome single-foot guides, and a woven carbon fibre grip that keeps you connected to what the rod is doing.
The down-locking reel seat uses a railed design with a carbon insert, not just for weight savings, but to keep everything in line with the blank’s overall feel and balance.
Nothing overdone. Nothing there without a reason.
The TechNymph G is easily the most advanced rod we’ve built to date. It’s designed for anglers who want precision, adaptability, and consistency, not just in perfect conditions, but across everything our local fisheries throw at you.
