The Origin II is a next-generation fly reel that sets a new standard for Reel Fly Fishing. Designed and engineered in-house by Shaun Carstens, it combines cutting-edge performance with durability, offering an advanced reel built to excel in both function and longevity.

Building on the success of the original Origin, which proved that exceptional performance doesn’t need to come with a hefty price tag, the Origin II takes the next step in refinement. Launched in 2020, the challenge of improving upon the original was significant, but the Origin II has succeeded in creating a new benchmark for the brand.

The reel incorporates precise design tolerances and our smooth, sealed carbon drag system. The helical-inspired frame design mimics that of the helical weave we use on the Origin fly rods and also eliminates traditional tippet pass-through with the full cage. The drag system is optimized for zero startup inertia, providing an ultra-smooth experience with minimal free-spooling.

Weighing only 138g, the Origin II is extremely lightweight and perfectly suited to a full days casting, where each gram counts!

A streamlined profile enhances balance, reduces bulk, and improves handling, while the deep V-shaped spool offers ample backing capacity and quicker retrievals.

The Origin II 5.6.7wt is the ideal choice for Euro and Czech nymphing, thanks to its lightweight build, full-frame design, oversized thin arbor, and exceptional drag system. Dedicated Euro Nymph spools and full reels are also available. The innovative spool designs allow you to have one frame and different spools for different applications.
